Simon Gregory appeared before Wigan and Leigh magistrates to plead guilty to assaulting Gulavazarrie Gregory by beating and telling her that he would torch her home.
The bench imposed a six-month custodial sentenceon Gregory, but suspended it for 18 months, telling him that the crimes had been aggravated because the assault had gone on for a prolonged period and it had taken place with a five-year-old child in the home.
