Crisp-munching colleagues are the scourge of the British workplace according to an online poll of the most annoying sounds in the office.
Amplifon, the UK's largest specialist hearing aid retailer, polled more than 1,000 office workers and identified the top 10 sounds that drive staff round the bend.
Other distracting sounds included slurping tea and coffee, annoying mobile ring tones
, the boss's voice, personal phone calls, IT jargon and hold music on the telephone.

e-mail rage research
A SURVEY of office workers, owners and managers has revealed that our reliance on e-mail as a critical business tool has created a new phenomenon – "e-rage".
The research by specialist business ISP Eclipse Internet looked at the effects of e-mail downtime on business owners and workers.
In Wigan, 84% of workers and company owners agreed that e-mail downtime caused major stress at work, compared to a UK average of 66%.

Wasteful printing
RESEARCH from the Government-funded programme Envirowise has found that more than half of office workers admit to wastefully printing documents.
Figures show the UK prints an average of 120 billion pieces of paper per annum.

Energy on the agenda
BUSINESS chiefs from Wigan are invited to attend the Energy Roadshow 2008. The event is aimed at increasing export potential with energy companies across the world.
The show, at Bolton's Reebok Stadium on September 2, is organised by the North West International Trade team, from Greater Manchester.
