New leisure centre gets under way

Wigan building contractor Allenbuild has begun construction of the new £8.2m Maghull Leisure Centre and Library for Sefton Council.
The start of the development by the Wigan-based firm was marked at a ground-breaking event at the Hall Road site, with various local dignitaries including the Mayor.

The eco-friendly leisure centre will feature a 25m swimming pool.
It will also have separate learner pool, a fitness suite, aerobics studio, sauna and steam room, a fitness referral suite and meeting rooms.
