Birkdale United Girls under-13 football team in their new kit sponsored

A GIRLS’ football team will dazzle crowds this season after securing a new sponsorship deal with a Wigan business.

Corkills Volkswagen is backing Birkdale United Girls under-13s which plays in the West Lancashire Girls Football league. As part of the agreement, the squad of 16 has received an entire new kit.

Team manager Graham MacBeth said: “As the team plays a number of matches in the Wigan area we always try to gain support from local businesses, but in this current climate it has been tricky.

“As Corkills has Volkswagen sites in Wigan and Southport we were delighted when they agreed to support the girls for this season. The kits look great and the team is very proud to wear a Volkswagen emblem on their shirts.”

Jacqui Kaye, Corkills Volkswagen’s brand manager, said: “We feel it is important to support local groups where we can and wish the club a successful season.”
