Hospitals trust pays out £1m compensation
The North Cumbria Acute Hospitals Trust paid out more than £1m last year in compensation, it has emerged.
Legal fees alone cost £789.067 and together with the compensation pay-outs made a total of £1,889,634
Figures released under the Freedom of Information Act show hospitals across the north east, Cumbria and North Yorkshire forked out more than £17m.
