Paul Jewell is ready to raid the JJB Stadium for centre-half Titus Bramble.
The ex-Latics boss wants the defender at Pride Park as he plans a Championship charge following Derby's relegation.
And Wigan manager Steve Bruce could listen to offers for Bramble, who was out of favour for the latter part of their survival campaign.

Jewell is keen to land the 26-year-old on loan with a view to a permanent deal as Derby are preparing to lose Darren Moore, who is expected to join Leicester City as their new skipper.
Emmerson Boyce partnered Paul Scharner at the heart of Latics' defence for the second half of last season, leaving Bramble out in the cold.

Also on the defensive front, Bruce is also hopeful of signing Ghana international John Mensah from Rennes, while weekend reports have linked Latics with a move for Fulham full-back Paul Konchesky.
The West Londoners will accept £2.5m for the England international, who signed from West Ham for £2m a year ago.
