Roberto Martinez reckons Latics face the ultimate test tonight – against a Stoke team he believes are the most well-drilled on the planet.
Tonight's clash at the DW Stadium will present Latics with a thorough physical examination against Potters' up-and-at-them style which has upset more than a few Premier League teams.

And Martinez believes Stoke's success can be put down to one thing – doing the basics right.

He told the Evening Post: "Stoke are very good at what they do, and they have mastered it.

"They actually play a little bit more football than a lot of people give them credit for, and they have a few players – like Tuncay and Matthew Etherington – who are exciting when they get on the ball and make things happen.

"But they remain the best team in world football at doing what they do from throw-ins, from set-plays and working to a strategy.

"They have added another dimension this season, and have maybe gone up to a different level.

"Stoke can score from absolutely anywhere on the field, and our concentration levels has to be there for the full 90 minutes."

I believe it'll be 1-1. We'll be very slow out of the blocks, but come back strong after half time

Looks like a slapping on its way if Bobby is building them up so well, preparing the ground his comments tomorrow " we will learn from that " as for concentrating for 90 minutes they have not managed it to many times this season, I wish them well but i have my doubts, I would like to be eating humble pie, tomorrow in some latics post but its more likely I will be eating a pooles meat and spud pie.

Poor opposition my a...
This is a team that beat the likes of Arsenal the other week and sit 11th in the league.

Having said that I have just had to listen to Martinez talking the biggest load of B.....ks i have heard all season.

How he can say that he was pleased with the way we defended is beyond me.
We should have bombed Figeroa off in the January window when we had the chance, as he is bobbins.
As for Gormless Gomez, well he must have something on Martinez, because how he keeps getting a shirt, week in week out is laughable.
But its not for the supporters, as this rubbish isnt funny anymore.
Do us all a favour Bob, stop coming out with all this c... after every game.
Just be honest and tell us that you havent got a clue what your doing, because everyone in the stadium tonight nows that you havent.
