Amr Zaki made it a perfect debut for Wigan Athletic as he netted in the last minute to give Latics a narrow win at Sheffield Wednesday.
The striker came off the bench in the 57th minute for his Latics bow after joining on a season-long loan from Zamalek.

Wigan went ahead in the 14th minute. Daniel De Ridder's corner was headed goalwards by Emile Heskey and the ball deflected off K
ing before beating the stranded Lee Grant.

King had an earlier chance when he latched on to a Olivier Kapo cross, but dragged his shot wide of the far post.
Wigan had big claims for a penalty when Marcus Tuggay brought down Maynor Figueroa, but referee Mark Haywood waved away the appeals.

Wednesday gave as good as they got and it was no surprise to see them draw level in the 16th minute.
Tudgay slid a ball through for Jermaine Johnson to chase and he went straight through the middle, leaving Emmerson Boyce and Bramble for dead before beating Carlo Nash with a cool finish.

Daniel De Ridder had a 25-yard free-kick superbly saved by Grant in the 32nd minute before Latics regained the lead three minutes later.
Bramble nodded in a corner from De Ridder with the ball going in via the far post.

Emile Heskey should have bagged a great chance in the 44th minute when he was played in by Kapo, but he blazed over.

The hosts were gifted an easy passage back into the game in the 54th minute from the penalty spot.
Figueroa took out Tudgay out in the area and Dean Burton made no mistake from 12 yards.

Amr Zaki was granted his Wigan debut when he came off the bench in the 57th minute.
After gettting away with an elbow, he blazed over in the 71st minute.
In the 75th minute he would have scored with a header, but Henri Camara got in the way.

Antoine Sibierski came as a substitute with Zaki and smacked a drive against the post in the 80th minute.
Henri Camara wasted a great chance when he sent a diving header from Figueroa's cross over with eight minutes left.
The striker then had two more superb opportunities, but the first was saved by the keeper and the rebound deflected over.

It was left to Zaki to steal the glory in the last minute when Camara played him through and he found the far corner with deadly precision.

Wigan: Nash, Melchiot, Bramble, Boyce, Figueroa, De Ridder, Brown, Cattermole, Kapo, Heskey, King.
