Latics manager Roberto Martinez has been told he is wasting his time if he is planning on raiding his former club for new players.
Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins, the man who gave Martinez his big chance in management two-and-a-half years ago, is determined the exit of his boss will not signal the break-up of a team that almost reached the Championship play-offs last term.
Jenkins fought desperately, but in vain, to keep Martinez when Latics decided he was the man to replace Sunderland-bound Steve Bruce.
The Swans chief then had to admit defeat in his attempts to prevent Martinez's backroom staff – including assistant Graeme Jones and chief scout Kevin Reeves – following suit.
However, Jenkins has moved swiftly to pour cold water on reports suggesting Ferrie Bodde, Angel Rangel and Jason Scotland would also be joining their mentor in the North West.
Jenkins told the Evening Post: "I am honestly not worried, because they are all securely under contract – so the prospect of that doesn't bother me at all.
"There is nothing at all in any of the speculation.
Every single one of our players is under contract, and there has been no conversation between myself and Wigan about players.
"We start back in pre-season training this week, and we'll be making every effort to strengthen the squad, not weaken it.
"I have only got one loyalty – to our club – and I will try to make sure every player our new manager wants to keep at this club will stay.
"I am more interested in our own manager getting our squad ready for the coming season, and that's what we're fully concentrating on."
Striker Scotland was the subject of a recent seven-figure bid from Premier League newcomers Burnley, while the player's agent hinted Latics would also be following developments very closely.
Martinez, of course, has already swooped to land one of his old Swansea players, although Jordi Gomez was only on loan at the Liberty Stadium last term from Espanyol.
The 24-year-old took the Championship by storm during his 12 months in South Wales, and Jenkins is confident the playmaker has the ability to successfully handle the step up to the Premier League.
"Jordi had a great season with us last year, and I fully expect him to make an impact at Wigan," Jenkins added.
"It's hard to know how some players will settle into a different environment and Premier League football.
"But I have to say that during his time with Swansea, he was a pleasure to watch and a big asset to our club.
"He is very inventive, very creative and he also scores goals. I am sure Roberto will get the best out of him. Wigan are very, very lucky
to have him."
