Latics winger Antonio Valencia has incurred the wrath of his national team coach after withdrawing from Ecuador's friendly against Colombia last week.
Valencia didn't travel to New York, pulling out with a knee
injury, but then played the Chelsea game on Sunday.

He has now been left out of their squad for the World Cup qualifier against Uruguay on September 10 – he is suspended for the game with Bolivia three days earlier.

Ecuador coach Sixto Vizuete said: "It seems he did not join us because he didn't want to.

"Our friendly was played on a date FIFA set aside for these types of games and regulations must be followed.
"The Ecuadorian Football Federation are following up this case with his club."
