The sun shone as a sea of pink lined up on Sunday to run the Race for Life at Haigh Hall.
The whole borough was united as scores of people flocked to support their loved ones in the two five-kilometre races.
This year, Wigan organised two races on the same day – a testament to the popularity of the event in the town.
Mums, daughters, sisters, cousins, grandmas, aunties, wives and friends all stood together at the starting line.
There was even a pink dog barking through the crowd to cheer on his owner, Karen Winrow, 44, of Hawkley Hall!
Thousands of names were pinned to the backs of each runner, to show who was in their thoughts as they ran or walked the course.

She said: "It's my fifth time this year. It's lovely when the family is all together."
Jennifer Gore, 25, from Bolton, and Jill Clark, 30, from Poolstock, were dressed like the 118 marathon men in big curly wigs and moustaches.
Jennifer said: "I am running for my grandad, Thomas, who died of lung cancer, aged 76. It touches everybody's lives, so we are trying to do our bit for everybody."
Jill added: "My sister, Cathy Green, 38, has just beaten cancer for the second time.
"She had a brain tumour when she was 15 and is just recovering from thyroid cancer. We lost my aunt a few years ago. It's very close to my
family's heart."
