Five months ago Luke Marsden was just an average student living in Wigan.
He occupied his time drinking cups of tea, watching Murder She Wrote and ring announcing for GPW Wrestling at the Monaco Ballroom.

But on June 5 this year, the 21-year-old from Whelley, went to live in the nation's most famous house.

Fifty eight days later, he became the seventh housemate to be evicted frm Big Brother 9.

The Wigan Observer's Seen Magazine caught up with Luke and found out what life has been like since Big Brother...

Q: What has it been like since you left Big Brother?

A: It has been absolutely crazy. Everybody wants to speak to me. We (Luke and Rebecca) have been doing magazine interviews and have been having meetings about our own TV show. I'm not allowed to discuss it but it's a fly-on-the-wall documentary, a bit like Jordan and Peter Andre's show.

Q: You formed a special relationship with fellow housemate Rebecca Shiner. She has even met your parents. How is it going with Rebecca?

A: It's going really well. We have only spent three days apart in these past seven weeks.

Q: What was it like being apart for those three days?

A: I was really busy and she was really busy. It's really weird.

We missed each other but it wasn't like that week in the Big Brother house (without Rebecca). That was hell.
We are spending every day together.

Q: How do you think Rebecca will change your image?

A: I don't drink, smoke or swear and she drinks, smokes and swears.
I didn't believe opposites attract, but it couldn't be more right. It's going great to be honest.
I don't think it has changed (my image). I look no different to when I went into the house.

Q: What made you audition for Big Brother?

A: I was in Manchester on the day of the auditions and my friend phoned to say he was taking his girlfriend to the audition. He said I was someone they would love.
He didn't turn up but I thought, 'I'm not here for nothing' and so I queued with pole dancing twins, transvestites - total freaks - and six months later I was in the show.
I thought 'you're different to every student - I don't drink, smoke or swear,' and I wanted to be a different student.
Also there has been no one from Wigan - Wigan is famous for rugby league, football, mintballs and pies and now Luke from Big Brother.

Q: Who have you kept in touch with now you are out of the Big Brother house (apart from Rebecca)?

A: Jen, Dale, Stuart, Maysoon, Belinda, Sara, Mario and Lisa.

Q: How was it seeing the old housemates you slated?

A: At the wrap party we spent all weekend with them - it was ok.
I will never be friends with Mo - he doesn't like me.
I didn't realise I was slating them as much as I did, but obviously I did.
Everyone was fine. Everybody is nice to each other's faces - there's no animosity to anybody. But you don't know what goes on behind your back.
