ALAN Banks has notched up a three-quarter-century of musical associations with his Wigan church.
And there is little chance of the 83-year-old slowing down.
Alan joined the choir at St Wilfrid’s Church, in Standish, in 1940 at the tender age of eight and when he was 15 he began playing the organ.
By the time he was 30 he became the deputy organist and played at the Sunday morning and evening services and he has been there ever since and is now celebrating 75 years.
He still plays regularly for services and also likes to sing.
