LAWSON singer Andy Brown has been penning tunes for X-Factor band Union J.
The former Winstanley College student has been helping the new boyband with a few of their songs and the lads
are pleased to have Andy on board as he offers a “younger viewpoint.”
Singer Josh Cuthbert told the Daily Star: “Andy is writing songs with us in mind and that’s brilliant, we really wanted a younger viewpoint.
“Obviously we’re honoured that the likes of Steve Mac and Wayne Hector want to work with us as well, but it’s good to have a mix.”
Union J released their debut single Carry You last week and will join Lawson at Capital FM’s Summertime Ball at Wembley Stadium on June 9.
Meanwhile Lawson have promised to perform new material on their upcoming Everywhere We Go UK tour.
The four-piece announced plans to kick off a 14-date tour across the country from September this year, starting with a show in Doncaster, and say it is going to be their “best tour ever.”
Drummer Adam Pitts said: “Well, it’s the Everywhere We Go tour, it’s the biggest tour we’ve ever done!
“We start off in Doncaster and we go to Brighton, London. We’ve got new songs, it’s going to be amazing.
“It’s going to be the best tour ever really,
The tour will see Lawson performing all over the UK across cities including Liverpool, Leicester, Birmingham, Manchester and London.
They will also head to Ireland in October.
Lawson are set to release new single Brokenhearted, which features US rapper B.o.B, on July 7.
And it seems the band, whose hits include Standing In The Dark and Learn To Love Again, have a fan in the form of Victoria Beckham.
The former Spice Girl met the lads at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards and asked if the they could record a video for her sister Louise’s kids.
And rumour has it she has already booked her tickets for the London shows.
