A WIGAN shopping centre and its visitors paid artistic and written tribute to the Fallen on a giant poppy canvas.
The canvas was put in the Grand Arcade to mark Armistice Day.
And a special workshop on the eve of Remembrance Sunday which gave shoppers the opportunity to write personal messages to loved ones past and present and decorate giant poppies.
The event led to the creation of a moving piece of art which was proudly left on display.
Centre manager John Sanson said: “We were amazed with the range of ages who left comments on the poppy canvas.
“In particular, I was really impressed with the younger ones who really understood the meaning of the board and Remembrance Day and what it stood for.
“We are looking into displaying the board and the comments on props next to a wall in the Arcade so it can be stay there and be seen by many for a long time to come.”
