TALENTED youngster Daisy Fletcher has scooped a prestigious festive honour.

The five-year-old Wood Fold Primary School pupil has won Wigan MP Lisa Nandy’s Christmas Card competition, beating hundreds of other entrants.

Daisy’s winning design will be sent out on Ms Nandy’s to Wigan charities, businesses, community groups and also to Labour Party leader Ed Miliband MP.

Lisa said: “We had hundreds of brilliant entries from children across Wigan so it was very difficult to pick a winner.”

Three runners-up, Lorna Ashbrook, Lewis Bradshaw and Lisa-Marie Roberts, will have their designs displayed on the back of the card.

Daisy was presented with her winning card at a ceremony at Wigan Town Hall with deputy mayor Coun Susan Loudon along with Ms Nandy.
