Band strike up for heroes

YOUNGSTERS at a Wigan school are to remember heroes of the past with an hour-long Remembrance Day service.

Year seven youngsters at Up Holland High will pay tribute to those who lost their life in battle in an annual event which features the Up Holland Concert Band and Phoenix Voices Choir.

The talented year 11 pupils will also perform a dance act to Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy played by the concert band, showcasing some of the more happier memories of the war years.

The aim of the day is to highlight the sacrifice of the brave men and women throughout history.
