HUNDREDS of real ale fans trickled through the doors of the annual Wigan Beer Festival over the weekend.

With over 60 real ales on tap there was something for everyone at the ever-popular event at Robin Park Sports Centre, organised by CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale).

There was live entertainment, games and tombola and Saturday was pirate fancy dress day.

One happy tippler, Dave Keebles from Shevington, said: “It’s always a great event, especially if you like real ales. But there’s literally something for everyone. It’s a great place to meet new friends and share a drink with old ones. Roll on next year.”
