TWO soap stars with special connections with Wigan were celebrating the birth of their first child today.
Lucy-Jo Hudson, who is an ambassador for the Joining Jack charity, and Alan Halsall, who often makes celebrity visits to local old folks homes, saw the arrival of their baby girl on Saturday morning.
Better known for their roles as Katy Harris and Tyrone Dobbs in Coronation Street, the pair announced the safe delivery on social media.
Alan tweeted: “Lucy-Jo & I are delighted to announce the arrival of our little girl born this morning. Mother & baby are home with a very proud Father ... Welcome #babyhalsall.”
The couple, who married in 2009, announced they were expecting their first child together in February.
Lucy-Jo, 30, had been tweeting her followers while she waited for their baby to arrive.
The tot, for whom no name has yet been been announced, was delivered nine days after her due date.
Only the other week Alan attended Ash Tree House care home, in Hindley and told residents he was ready to rush out in case there was news!
