WIGAN Junior Latics under-nines celebrated unveiling their new shirt sponsor by holding a charity event.
An anonymous businessman has helped supply the side with their new kit but instead of having his company’s name put across the shirts, he has asked them to select a charity and have that name on instead.
The youngsters held a fund-raiser yesterday to help raise cash for their new away strip as well.
They’ve been helped by a business called Touchline who have sorted them out with a deal to purchase them.
The boys took part in the “Touchline assault on Banks Avenue” on Thursday which saw them run 10 laps of their pitch while taking part in mini exercises in between.
As a result of their new home sponsor, they will also donate money from future fund-raising events to Cancer Research.
Coach Peter Jones said: “The lads were absolutely shattered when they finished and were all clapped off.
“I want to say a big thank-you to the man who has helped fund the home kit and also to Touchline who have sorted us a deal for the away kit.”
