Eight-hour bootcamp raises thousands

MEMBERS of a Wigan gym pushed themselves to the extreme to raise thousands of pounds for charity.

The kind-hearted souls at JSBeFit squatted, weight-lifted and burpeed their way through eight hours of intense bootcamp sessions on a hugely successful day at the Billinge Road fitness club.

It was the second event of its kind at the gym but this year they smashed all targets, raising around £3,000 for Wigan and Leigh Hospice, a charity close to the hearts of owners John Boland and Sarah Berry.

Assisted by trainer Matt Mahoney, over 60 members joined in the day with some taking part in a select amount of hours while around 30 stuck out the full day.

Dumbbells were flying, kettlebells were swinging and slam balls were... well, slamming... as the group powered through the exhausting exercises.
