MEDIA students from a local high school have taken a stroll along the world-famous cobbles of Coronation Street as a reward for their award-winning movie-making skills.

Earlier this year, Leigh’s Bedford High held its very own Oscar-style media awards ceremony to recognise the hotbed of young film-making talent amongst the students.

First prize in the Best Overall Movie category went to the production of team of Jade Tasker Marsh, Jessica Keheller, Sarah Walters and Josh Bates. And their prize, a fantastic day out behind the scenes and in front of the cameras at ITV’s Granada Studios in Manchester.

The event was organised by Bedford’s partner for the awards ceremony, city-based film studio 3SixtyMedia.

The starry-eyed students got to grips with all the tricks of the TV and film trade, including editing and sound dubbing. The tour also included half a day on Manchester’s very-own street of fame with a tour of the set of Corrie.
