The highest bidder will go on dinner date in Manchester with Roxanne, when convenient for both, with the tab picked up too.

Carolynne has been a strong supporter of Joining Jack, which raises money for research into Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), performing at various events and running the Wigan 10k as well.

She’s hoping the chance to spend an evening with stunning brunette Roxanne will be enough to tempt folk to part with their money.

Carolynne said: “Rox and I were sat having dinner last week chatting about the usual, work, guys and the fact that we are both single on Valentine’s Day!

“I had already discussed with Roxanne the charity I am involved in, Joining Jack, as she is also has a personal connection with MD through her friend Joe Alecock who also has the condition.

“Roxy had agreed to help in any way she could so I thought, right... I’ll hold you to that. Both Rox and I have have been pretty unlucky when it comes to fellas and dating so I thought, maybe I should just stick her on eBay!

“Shes such a good sport, not only drop dead gorgeous but one of the funniest, most quick witted girls I know so I am certain the winner of this date will have a blast.”

As the Evening Post went to print, the top bid had gone over the £4,000 mark, much to the delight of Carolynne with the charity very close to her heart.

Joining Jack was set up by former Wigan rugby player Andy Johnson and his wife Alex following their son Jack’s diagnosis with DMD in 2011.

“I was introduced to Joining Jack by my friend Lucy Jo Halsall last year and immediately felt drawn to the charity as I also have a family member with this condition,” she explained.

“I am now firm friends with Jack’s mum Alex and have attended several events with her and her husband Andy where they have opened their hearts and repeatedly shared their very personal journey in the hope to make a difference. The passion of this couple, the determination and dedication to helping their little boy and others is indescribable.

“I find them so inspiring and am immensely proud to know them, support them and be part of this charity. I have not yet been blessed with a family but if I did find myself in their position I would hope I would have half the strength and fight they do.”

The support fromthe pair has been much appreciated by the Johnson family.

Alex said: “We’d like to thank Carolynne and Roxanne for all of their support – this is definitely something a bit different to raise money, and we hope that people decide to dig deep for the opportunity!

“Something like this just goes to show that you really can do anything to help raise funds for charity.”
