HUNDREDS of scooter riders took to the streets on their customised two-wheeled machines for one of the most popular events in the riders’ annual calendar.
Ginger’s Easter Egg Run saw a multitude of scooters leave Lowton Civic Hall to make the trip down to Manchester Children’s Hospital to distribute chocolate treats to the patients.
The scooterists refused to let the grey skies dampen their enthusiasm for the run, which has now been held 27 times.
The ride, which concluded with a customised scooter show in the grounds of the hospital, formed the centre piece of a whole weekend of activities, including music performances by a range of DJs.
Riders came from across the country to attend the renowned event, organised by legendary scooter enthusiast Kevin Lawton, with many people camping overnight in Lowton to ensure they did not miss out on any of the festivities.
