WIGAN is going Harry Potty! To mark the final instalment of the popular wizardry series, Empire cinemas, in Robin Park, Wigan, is showing all seven of the films before the much-anticipated Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part Two hits the screens.
The first three films: Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, The Chamber of Secrets, and the Prisoner of Azkaban were shown at the weekend.
And tonight there is a chance to see The Goblet of Fire.
Tomorrow’s showing will be The Order of the Phoenix, with The Half-Blood Prince the following night. All films start at 8pm.
And what is expected to be the most-packed out of the showings is The Deathly Hallows: Part One, which starts at 9.15pm on Thursday, allowing eager fans to catch the last ever Harry Potter film – Part Two in its first showing at 12.05am on Friday.
A spokesman from Empire Cinemas said staff and Harry Potter fans were excited about the release of the final film.
She said: “We have been showing all Harry Potter films to give fans the chance to experience the whole story so far in the run up to the finale which starts just after midnight on Thursday.
“The general feel of the cinema is one of excitement, while we prepare ourselves for a potentially very busy period.
“We have sold more than 3,000 advance tickets with the potential of adding more as business dictates.
“Tickets for the previous films are also selling well and we expect these screenings to be just as busy as the finale.”
