ONE celebrity who couldn’t wait to see the back of 2013 was Kym Marsh.

Last year saw the Ashton actress split from her husband Jamie Lomas, amid rumours she had an affair with former Coronation Street co-star Oliver Mellor.

But Kym is looking ahead to 2014 and took to Twitter to start afresh.

She ended the year by thanking everyone who had supported her during the turbulent year and for “laughing with me in happy times.”

And looking ahead, she said: “Cannot wait for 2014 leaving behind the bad and looking forward to the good. #newbeginnings.”

And on Monday Kym posted a message that read: “If you are reading this, you have survived your entire life up until this point. You have survived traumas, heartbreak, devastation, the different phases of life.”

The 37-year-old also took to Twitter to set the record straight about her new friendship with footballer Michael Chopra.

Newspaper reports said that the pair met at Blackpool Rocks dance event last month and they had exchanged messages on Twitter.

But Kym said they had only met once - in public - and there was nothing more than a chance encounter.

She posted: “I am beyond fuming! I have met that person ONCE!!!! And in the company of others! Don’t understand the need to write untruths.”

Michael, who is a striker for Blackpool, waded in, saying: “Why do people make things bigger than they actually are met @msm4rsh once with @antonycotton and people try to make it out we are dating.”

She also joked with fellow Corrie co-star Catherine Tyldesley that they were dating, “taking things slowly” and were expecting a baby.

But it appears the daft jokes and mickey taking out of the story kept Kym in high spirits as she posted: “Thank you guys for all the support today. Some of the banter has been hilarious. Kisses.”

Meanwhile, there could be another baby for Kym - as her soap character Michelle Connor suspects she is pregnant,

But Michelle is far from happy and suggests to partner Steve McDonald, played by Simon Gregson, that he has a vasectomy, much to his disgust.

He seeks advice from new pal - and study buddy - Andrea, played by Hayley Tamaddon - which doesn’t go down well with Michelle, who is already jealous of their friendship.

Will Andrea use this to her advantage?
