High-speed charity success

PETROLHEADS from across the borough enjoyed living life in the fast lane for a day at a thrilling high-speed charity fund-raiser.

Teams of up to four drivers got to follow in the footsteps of drivers such as Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button by getting behind the wheel of a kart to raise money for Wigan and Leigh Hospice (WALH).

The drivers took part in a two-hour endurance race at the Three Sisters circuit in Bryn, with teams having to negotiate all the demands of top-level motorsport including pit stops and driver changeovers.
