KYM Marsh has hit back at online critics who attack her celebrity lifestyle.
The 34-year-old mum admitted that she feels judged for having fun, as she is often pictured at showbiz events.
She said: “I’m not allowed to go out and have fun! People just go (online) and slag everyone off.”
And when asked about events on Popstars, on which she was accused of lying about having children, Kym, from Ashton, hit back that no-one ever asked if she was a mother.
She said: “I didn’t offer that information up in the beginning, because I didn’t think it made a difference and then I was in the final 10. They said it’s fine.
“And then a few weeks later I got hauled up into the office and had this whole thing on camera with Nigel Lythgoe as if I had hidden this dirty little secret. So I became the person who lied about my child.”
Meanwhile, Kym’s contract with Coronation Street is up for renewal in June, but it is unclear about whether it will be renewed.
She said: “That’s normal. It’s still five months away so we’ll just have to wait and see.
“I would like to stay, if it’s right for me and right for them I’ll definitely stay, but there are two parties involved and it’s got to work for everybody.”
She added that she is excited to see how the story unfolds for her character, Michelle, saying: “She’s just gone into the factory and everything, I’m looking forward to seeing where she goes next.”
She added she also fancied a role in Downton Abbey as a maid.
