KYM Marsh is excited over Coronation Street’s future plans for her character Michelle Connor.
The Ashton actress, who has been on the cobbles since 2006, is thought to have recently met with show bosses as she prepares to sign a new deal with the programme.
Her current Coronation Street deal expires in the summer, but show producers are reportedly keen to keep her and ITV sources suggest Kym had always wanted to stay in the ITV soap beyond her current contract.
Kym told The People: “ITV have been brilliant while I was on maternity leave and looking after Polly in the months after giving birth.
“The producers have also told me about other storylines they have planned for Michelle that I am very excited about.”
Could one of those storylines involve a plan to murder villain and factory boss Frank Foster, who raped ex-girlfriend Carla Connor - Michelle’s sister-in-law,
Last week, tabloid reports suggested that Michelle will come under suspicion when he is murdered in a few weeks’ time.
She will be one of six suspects - Frank’s girlfriend Sally Webster (Sally Dynevor), her ex-husband Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell), Frank’s mother Anne Foster (Gwen Taylor), Carla (Alison King), and her lover Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne).
Police question Michelle after discovering she stole contracts from Frank to try and stop him winning the factory from Carla.
Meanwhile, Kym has revealed in her weekly magazine column that her dad, Dave, is on the mend after he suffered a heart attack three weeks ago.
He has a history of heart trouble after he had a cardiac arrest on 1995 and had a quadruple bypass eight years ago.
She said: “Fortunately, he doesn’t need more surgery, but he’s on lots of medication and feels like he’s back to square one.
“I’ve been worried, but he’s not one to let anything get him down.”
Kym even printed a photo of Dave looking fit and well, playing a banjo.
The 35-year-old added that she spent Valentine’s Day alone, as fiance Jamie Lomas was still in LA trying to get some acting jobs.
But her son, David, was cooking dinner for his girlfriend, so at least one member of the Marsh clan enjoyed a romantic time.
