KYM Marsh is pushing others to get the perfect body.
The Coronation Street actress, who grew up in Ashton, has been putting Good Morning Britain (GMB) presenter Pier Morgan through his paces as she made him do planks.
To be told, to have someone say, ‘Christmas is over and the goose has gotten fat’ is pretty harshKym Marsh
As she appeared on the show to talk about its Eat More Lose More diet and lifestyle plan, she asked challenged him to a planking contest.
Full of macho belief, he quipped: “You know what Marsh, you challenged me to a plank off and you’re going down, get planking!”
Following a gruelling two minutes Piers was forced to concede, as he collapsed from the strain - while Kym went on to hold her plank for four minutes.
Piers told Kym: “That was actually very impressive, I’m impressed. I’m actually more impressed I did two minutes.”
As Kym was shown clips from her early days in Hear’Say, Kym admitted she was humiliated when Popstars judge Nigel Lythgoe called her fat.
She told GMB: “I mean, I was new to that, I was 24 years old.
“To be told, to have someone say, ‘Christmas is over and the goose has gotten fat’ is pretty harsh anyway but to have it put all over national television in front of millions of viewers was pretty humiliating and you know it took a while for me to get over that.
“It was something that I then had a lot of issues with subsequently. It’s hard when people do that and it does give you self-esteem issues.”
She added of her current relationship with food and dieting: “I think it is about caring about yourself really more than anything and kind of saying, ‘OK, you’ve said that, you think that about me, what do I think about myself?’
“And everything that I have done has been because I have wanted to do it for me.”
Following the release of her new fitness DVD Power Sculpt, Kym says she’s keen to make some “big plans” to challenge herself over the course of the year.
She revealed in her OK! column that she would love to climb Mount Everest.
She said: “(Boyfriend) Matt Baker wants us to go trekking at Everest base Camp - I’d love to give that a go.”
