KYM Marsh is warning people to check their waste is disposed of correctly after falling foul of a suspected con man.
The 36-year-old from Ashton had paid someone to dispose of her waste - including old Coronation Street scripts - and was shocked to discover she was to appear in court next week, charged with failing to ensure correct disposal of her rubbish.
A Coronation Street spokesman said: “Kym paid someone in good faith to remove the rubbish which had accumulated as a result of work on the house.
“She didn’t think any more of it until she heard from Salford Council, who wanted to speak to her about rubbish dumped on the roadside.
“She immediately went straight to the council and explained what had happened and was told that if she didn’t hear anything within six weeks that would be the end of it.
“This is the first she knew about the court summons.
“Kym would like to use the opportunity to warn others to be careful about paying other people to remove rubbish. She was just keen to get rid of it.
“Kym would never have given it to somebody if she thought that was going to happen.
“She is horrified that the rubbish was dumped and very angry.”
Salford council declined to comment.
