FAMILIES First, in partnership with Wigan Leisure Culture Trust, held drop in sessions at Profiles Gym at Robin Park, for residents in the borough who are living with a health condition.

The organisation, established to help people get back into work, were alongside various other groups offering advice.

Representatives were available from:

Making Space to offer support to people with mental health conditions;

Active Living who can offer advice on falls prevention and keeping active;

Health trainers to offer health advice;

Carer’s support centre who support formal and informal carers;

Kathryn Johnston, Families First manager, said: “The aim of the sessions was to offer information and advice on a range of topics from managing a health condition to managing money.

“The event was well attended by local residents who signed up for Active Living sessions and support from the agencies represented on the day.”
