CAN you provide a good home for one very well-deserving dog?
Two months ago, Lily and her four brothers and sisters were found abandoned in a box in an alleyway.
Selfless Ince resident Cathie Peloe took in the pups and nursed four of the puppies back to good health.
After a report by The Wigan Evening Post, we were inundated with calls from potential new dog owners.
One of the cross-breeds - named Rosie – found a loving home with Cheralyn Matthews, but Lily is still looking for a home.
Cheralyn said: “Rosie has brought sunshine into my life. We bonded straight away and even though she is mischievous, she is very loving and never stops making me laugh!”
Cathie, who kept one dog, Roxy, said: “I’d love to keep Lily but I can’t, I’ve been advised that two bitches from the same litter can be difficult.
“It will break my heart when she goes, so I would love a local home so that Cheralyn and Mary who has helped me look after her, can stay in touch.
“She has a gorgeous temperament, is very intelligent and would make a loving family pet.”
All the puppies will have their second injections this week and be micro-chipped too. For more information on Lily, call Adele at Lilford Animal Welfare Centre on 07541 988241.
