FOR community-minded Trish Green, The Brick will always hold a special place in her heart.
The organisation, now located in Rowbottom Square, provides advice and support for homeless people and struggling families.
Trish, who founded The Brick five years ago, said: “In that time I have seen it grow and develop into the wonderful place it is today.
We are hidden away at the back of Library Street but lots of people know where we are, and each day sees many people coming to us for advice, support, training, food parcels or delivering donations to us.
In April we moved from the old Bricklayers’ Arms into our new premises which is light bright and airy. Many people who were afraid to come to the old building have found the new one to be very different.
Here visitors are met with a bright smile on reception and taken through into a quiet room where they are listened to and help is given. Our trained staff and volunteers are caring and supportive and if they cannot help then they know someone who can. Most people leave feeling happier than when they arrived.”
