OFCOM has confirmed it will not proceed with an investigation into Wigan broadcaster Kay Burley over the controversial interview surrounding missing child April Jones.

More than 300 viewers complained about the Sky News interview, aired on October 5, in which she told volunteers live on camera that police did not expect to find the child alive and pushed for a response despite the volunteer being visibly upset at the news.

However, Ofcom has decided that there was no clear breach of the broadcasting rules and does not warrant a more in-depth investigation.
