CHRISTMAS will be full of mixed emotions for Kym Marsh.
It will be her first without husband Jamie Lomas, and her eldest son, David, will be on holiday with his girlfriend but her youngest child – Polly, two, will be old enough to get excited about Santa’s visit.
Kym told The Scottish Daily Record: “Christmas is always a family time so I will be spending it with mine, but my son is in Cape Verde with his girlfriend and her family this year so we will be missing him like mad.
“He is 18 now and an amazing young man. My daughter Emily is just 16 and a very talented singer and actress and a little diamond and Polly is so funny – a real little character and so, so cute.
“She never really knew what Christmas was in previous years as she was too young, but now she’s getting excited.”
The Ashton actress won’t be cooking the turkey this Christmas, admitting: “I have only ever done Christmas dinner once as we always get invited elsewhere. I can cook though, but find it stressful.”
And while she has reverted back to Marsh on the Coronation Street titles and on Twitter, she admitted her best Christmas present was her engagement ring from Jamie, making “a fabulous Christmas.”
But she admitted: “I am a bit rubbish when it comes to gifts because I never really want anything.
“I don’t ever really desire material things that much. I’m easy to buy for though – as I’m a girly girl. The kids always get me lovely gifts at Christmas time. They always choose them themselves and always get me something I love.”
But Kym has given herself an early Christmas present in the form of a tattoo. She has given no hints as to what the new inking will be of, but it will no doubt have great meaning to her, as she has previously had ones done in honour of her children.
With a turbulent year behind her, does Kym have a few New Year’s resolutions?
She explained: “I don’t ever make New Year’s resolutions because I always break them, so no point.”
