THREE popular reality TV stars have launched their own tanning products – and it all started in Wigan.
TOWIE sweetheart Jessica Wright, The Valley’s Natalee Harris and Geordie Shore stars Vicky Pattison and Jay Gardner have found their perfect colour tones by being the face of their own range, made by Solaris Tanning Products in Orrell.
Marina Berry, national sales manager, said: “We contacted their management companies, as we felt these people had a good following with young people and were popular and we were trying to cover different catchment areas related to the shows.
“We also want to promote safe tanning and provide an alternative to electronic sun beds and so this goes perfectly with what we are doing.”
Lyndsay Ashcroft, sales and marketing manager, liaises with the celebrities and ensures they are happy with the product,
She said: “The stars love their products and actively use them.
“Jess likes the melon scent. She uses mousses and sprays and she applies them to herself, and family and friends.
Her products are also in strawberry and coconut flavours and are good for sensitive skin,
“Vicky also uses mousses and likes the tropical tan, which gives an extra dark glow, I spoke to Vicky a few weeks ago and she said she loved the fact it had a moisturiser. The man tan is an expanding market, and it is great we have Jay who can show how popular it really is.
“He likes the tan in the can and it has a male scent, like Davidoff’s Cool Water.
“Natalee’s is the newest range and she likes the strawberry aroma. These celebrities have had a lot of input into it as they tried a lot of products,”
Managing director Anthony Berry was delighted to get the reality stars on board.
He said: “It is really good for morale. Before his launch, Jay came here and had his spray tan and he is a really good lad.
“Jess is also a really good role model and is very clean cut.”
Jessica’s range is wholesale only, while the Geordie Shore lines are for retail, with Vicky’s products soon to be used in Fenwicks department store in Bond Street, London.
They are also sold in Australia and New Zealand.
As well as the celebrity range, Solaris, in Sandbrook Road, has products which are specifically branded for a particular market,
Dance Tanz is suitable for people on the stage and a wash-off brand has been created for youngsters and professionals who cannot turn up to work with a tan.
LA Pro Tan, launched by body builder Lynsey Beattie, is targeted towards the body building and weight training sector.
Solaris has also expanded to include colour and tints, as it has been awarded a contract with Ceris Hair Care.
