TOUR De France champion Bradley Wiggins is in demand at the moment, with his autobiography flying off the shelves.
The 32-year-old has released extracts of his book through the Sun newspaper and has revealed details of his wedding to Shevington-born Cath.
He said; “I was drunk on my wedding day.
“I’d been on the stag night until 6am and then had a few ‘sharpeners’ in the bar beforehand.
“By the end of the night I was in no state to carry Cath to the bedroom.
“I suspect I was carried to the bridal suite and laid out on the corpse.”
He also spoke about how he missed the birth of his son, Ben, due to racing.
He said: “I was off racing for a cycling team I despised when I should have been at my wife’s side.
“I rushed home, but I was too late.”
And Bradley revealed how being hit by a car changed his life.
He said: “My first bad crash was a blessing in disguise.
“I was 12 and went off in a strop after a row with my mum about riding at night.
“A car in Shepherd’s Bush hit me. I was knocked unconscious and broke a collar bone.
“I got £1,700 compensation and bought my first proper racing bike.”
He added that he has a collection of boxing memorabilia and loves playing the guitar.
