VERNON Kay certainly thinks his wife is worth it, as she fronts a new campaign for L’Oreal.
Tess Daly, who has been with the former St John Rigby College pupil for 13 years, has landed an advertising deal with the brand, but admitted he would not let her tone down her accent to say “because I’m worth it.”
She said: “I couldn’t dare tone down my accent because Vernon would tell me off. I’m posh compared to him, though. I tease him all the time.
“I can only be me, really. The first time I said it I got emotional - they’re iconic words. We’ve grown up listening to these amazing women say these immortal words - I had to pinch myself.”
Other faces of L’Oreal include Jennifer Aniston, Jane Fonda and Cheryl Cole.
Tess told the Mirror she would be asking her Strictly Come Dancing pal Kimberley Walsh for Girls Aloud bandmate Cheryl’s number to see if the L’Oreal ambassador could give her any tips.
Former model Tess also said she felt she might need to keep her appearance more polished than usual because of her new job.
She said: “I’m going to have to make more effort with my appearance on a daily basis.”
And she also revealed that she shared an instant connection with husband Vernon Kay.
The couple have been together since 2000, and have two children together, Phoebe Elizabeth and Amber Isabella.
She told Fabulous: “It was all quite immediate, really, because we instantly had such a blast together.
“I couldn’t imagine having more fun with anyone else. It was pretty explosive, I tell you.”
The Strictly Come Dancing host admitted that long-term relationships change over time.
She said: “You keep the fire burning, you keep stoking that fire.”
Tess added that her husband has grown up in recent years: “I guess he is the same, but more mature.
“You know what men are like, they never really grow up, do they?
“Do they ever catch us up mentally? I don’t think so.”
