Irish gig for Wilf

A CHARITY Irish Night is being held in memory of a former Wigan Mayor.

Former Worsley Mesnes ward councillor and Recreation and Amenities member the late Wilf Brogan BEM was known across the borough as ‘Mr Sport’ because of his tireless cruscade to boost facilities across the Metro.

Now a special celebration of his life and work for sport will be held at St Judes Amateur Rugby League Club in Keats Avenue, Poolstock, on Saturday February 18, featuring the well known north west Emerald Isle folk band Celtic Rose.

All proceeds will go to the Mayor of Wigan’s chosen charities. Tickets, priced £4, will be available on the door.
