Still time to sign up for ramble

TIME is running out for Wiganers to sign up for the Legacy Rainbow Ramble.

Rainbow House, which supports children with disabilities in Wigan and the North West, is celebrating its 10th birthday, with a sponsored Rainbow Ramble on April 2.

The ramble is a 10-mile or 18-mile walk and last year raised £25,000. Closing date for entries is March 25.

And to celebrate its birthday, there will be a party for all the children.

Since it was founded in April 2001 by former Shevington resident, Joe Mawdsley, a mother of two disabled sons, the charity has helped thousands of disabled children to become more independent through its holistic approach to child development and its specialist Conductive Education service.

It has two centres, Rainbow House in Eccleston which provides nursery day care and The Legacy in Mawdesley, which provides specialist services for disabled children and their families and nursery care.

To register online for the Legacy Rainbow Ramble or to find out more about the event, visit www.thelegacy-rainbowhouse.com.
