MUMS, daughters, grans, sisters and friends lined Haigh Hall Country Park in Wigan to help fight cancer - taking part in the annual Race for Life.

Women of all ages dressed in pink, donned daft wigs, tutus and fairy wings to take part in Cancer Research UK’s RFL on Sunday.

For many, the event was particularly poignant as they took part in tribute of a friend or relative who had died as a result of breast cancer. As t-shirts had names in honour of those who lost their battle with the illness, it was evident that everyone was united to do their loved one proud.

There were cheers and shouts as the multi-coloured wonders raced over the finish line, with each participant proud to have taken part and raise much needed cash for the organisation.
