YOUNGSTERS from a Wigan dance school are tapping in time at rehearsals for their annual show.
Children from the Buckley School of Dance, based in Springfield, have been busy preparing for their performance, Shine, which for many will be the first time performing in front of an audience.
The Buckley School of Dance is a well-respected school ran by Louise Hawkes. The school offers ballet, tap and modern lessons to students aged two years upwards.
Louise said: “We’ve been preparing this show since September and I am very proud of how hard all of the children have worked.
“For the second time we have two generations performing on stage with two mums in our senior class and their daughters in the baby class.
“We are very grateful for the grant given to us by Wigan Council enabling us to use the fantastic facilities. And thank you to everybody who has made this possible.
“We hope we have lots of support turning up to watch and cheer us on as this show is set to be the best ever since the school was established more than 70 years ago.”
The school will be showcasing the talent at the Theatre Royal in St Helens all weekend.
Parent, Emma Jones, 32, of Beech Hill said: “I’m really looking forward to seeing all of the girls perform - they have been working so hard all year for the opportunity to show everybody what they have learned.
“My little girl is in the show and I can’t wait to her on the stage. I’m very proud of how far she has come.”
