BRIDES in Wigan have been allured by an unusual dress which honours members of the armed forces.

Staff at Special Days, in Gerard Street, Ashton, have made a dress of red poppies as a tribute to all armed forces, past and present. Bridal consultant Sharon Davies said: “We have had such an amazing response to the display, from far and wide.

“Soldiers have called into the shop and we have had a lot comments on our Facebook page from forces members and their families, as well as numerous members of the public calling in to express how much they appreciate what we have done.

“We are so pleased by the amount of people who hold our Armed Forces in such esteem, We feel that every generation should continue to remember what they do for us hence the idea of our display.”
