All lanes clear after M6 crash

THE M6 has fully reopened following an accident near Wigan.

Two lanes were closed on the northbound carriageway between Standish, junction 27, and Leyland, junction 28, after a car hit a lamp post and collided with another vehicle at 9.05am today (Wednesday).

Emergency services arrived to find one car overturned in a field.

Two people are said to have suffered minor injuries and police closed the lanes while the vehicles were recovered.

Traffic flow is now back to normal.
