Amore complete service
WIGAN'S future brides and their beaux can get ready to enjoy the Amore experience.
Offering the latest creations on the catwalk today for both men and woman, the Standish store is the culmination of months of careful planning, research and travel, by owners Clare Crist and Alex Robinson.
Stocking countless European wedding gowns, plus shoes, tiaras and feather fascinations, and with a separate men's hire and buy department on the top floor, Amore has the capability to cater for more than just the bride.
And working on the basis of appointment only, clients will have the pleasure of being looked after in stylish surroundings, following a complete transformation of the premises at 100 High Street.
Alex said: "It's been really hard work but it is definitely something new for Wigan. We could see what the industry was missing here. Amore is completely modern and feminine."
Alex and Clare, both aged 32 and from St Helens, are two business-minded individuals with more than just an eye for what works.
The pair also own and run the successful Nail Beautique, a stone's throw along the high street from where their new venture is based, and they now plan to intertwine the two.
Alex said: "We will be offering the bridal party the whole package, including the option of a manicure for the wedding day.
"It will be a seven-day week for us, splitting our time between the Nail Beautique and Amore. But we are perfectionists and just want to make sure that everything is just right."
Amore's bridal department will be managed by Louise Thomas, and the men's department by Steven Parry.
Louise, who has extensive experience in the industry, said: "We have travelled through Europe to find cutting edge, contemporary designer wedding and bridesmaids dresses and they are just amazing.
"This is something completely different for Wigan. And the interior of the shop is stunning, with wooden floors, spotlights and huge mirrors. There is also a large flat screen showing the latest bridal fashions in stock.
"There will be something to suit everyone from sizes six to 28, and a seamstress working on site."
And the groom's party will be just as carefully catered for with a personal home measuring service on offer, plus the opportunity to hire or buy tuxedos and dinner suits for any occasion.
Alex said: "We know how difficult it can be to get all the men together to be measured, so have taken this into account."
Amore also caters for second time brides and weddings abroad, selling light-weight garments to accommodate for the more intimate ceremony in warmer climes.
Louise added: "Brides will fall in love with what they find here. I believe this is what Wigan has been waiting for, for a long time."
A preview evening will be held at Amore, 100 High Street, Standish, on Tuesday, October 18, between 7pm to 10pm.
