RAIL bobbies believe this man could have important details about the indecent assault of a young woman on a train which passed through Wigan.

The 20-year-old was on board a passenger service bound for Manchester via Wigan North Western which she was molested by a man who had got on at Preston and came to sit next to her.

The incident took place shortly after 4pm on Wednesday June 10.

Investigating officer PC Daniel Naylor said: “This was an extremely frightening experience for the victim. The man sat next to her and repeatedly touched her and made sexual advances.

“Despite his victim telling him to stop he persisted, eventually even asking for her contact details before he left the train at Deansgate.

“It is vital we speak to the man in the image as we believe he could have important information about what happened.” Anyone with information is asked to contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40, or text 61016, quoting reference PSUB/B2 of 07/07/2015.
