POLICE are concerned for the welfare of a missing Wigan man.

Stephen Knight, 40, was last seen at about 4.15am on Friday July 24, after he had finished a night shift at work.

He is then believed to have returned to his home address on Daybrook, Up Holland, but he has not been seen or has not made any contact with friends or family members since.

Stephen has been described as being white, 6ft 3in tall, stocky build with mousey receding hair and a moustache. He may be wearing a pair of jeans, black shirt and black jacket and is believed to have his two dogs with him, a Rottweiler and a German Shepherd.

Police officers believe that Stephen could have been in Lancaster the day after he went missing, and that he could have also visited the Lake District.

Insp Paul McLernon of Lancashire Police said; “We are getting increasingly concerned about Stephen as he has not been seen for quite some time now. I would urge anyone who has seen him or has any information about where he might be to contact us as soon as possible.”
