ROBBERS threatened a Wigan shop assistant with a knife and a crowbar to steal just £20 worth of sandwiches.
Detectives today appealed for information about the terrifying raid at the Eurogarage on Warrington Road, Worsley Mesnes.
It was at about 4.30am last Friday, when a man was alone in the shop, that two men entered and a third stood by the door.
The first robber walked up to the counter, produced a large knife from his sleeve and held it in front of the victim’s face. The second man was wielding a crowbar.
They then took sandwiches from the fridge and all three men left the store.
The assistant was uninjured.
All the raiders were white and wore dark clothing and had their faces covered.
Det Con Kath Andrews, of Wigan CID, said: “These robbers threatened a man with a knife and a crowbar for the sake of a few sandwiches.
“They are clearly reckless, desperate and potentially dangerous. As a result we are appealing for the public’s help.”
