MEN wearing balaclavas stole money from a McDonald’s restaurant in Wigan.

At around 2.20pm on Monday, a security guard was collecting money from McDonald’s on Morris Street. As he walked to his van, a silver Ford Fiesta drove up to him.

As soon as the car pulled up, the victim knew exactly what the offenders wanted and did the right thing to ensure he did not come to any harm

Noticing the three men wore balaclavas, the cashbox was dropped and the men picked it up before driving off.

No one was injured.

One man is described as being 6ft tall, of medium build, wore a grey hooded top and grey tracksuit trousers. The other two wore dark clothing.

Detective Sergeant Graham Clare said: “As soon as the car pulled up, the victim knew exactly what the offenders wanted and did the right thing to ensure he did not come to any harm.

“I would ask anyone who may have witnessed the robbery, saw the men drive off or if anyone has dash cam footage from Greenhough Street between 2.20pm and 2.40pm to contact police as soon as possible.”
